Writing is (sometimes) more fun than making curtains

You know how some days it’s just haaaaaaard to write. And you find yourself thinking of 13 reasons why you can’t write at that moment. Because maybe you’re procrastinating.

Reasons Why I Can’t Write

1. I am sick.
2. The sink is overflowing with dirty dishes.
3. I went out to lunch with a friend and ate way too much.
4. Apparently nobody else is going to sweep the kitchen floor.
5. I keep forgetting to stay off the internet and I’m answering emails instead.
6. This story really stinks.
7. I mean really, really stinks. Like nobody else other than me would ever want to read it and I sure as heck don’t want to read it right now.
8. I have no idea what happens next.
9. No idea.
10. I am so tired. Because I was up late last night working on this novel.
11. There are children in this house. And even though they aren’t interrupting me right now at this moment I can totally sense they are going to…that’s it’s only a matter of time…so why bother getting sucked into it?
12. For two years since we’ve moved into this house I’ve had a sheet draped over a curtain rod in front of the window over my desk. I keep meaning to turn it into a curtain. But obviously that’s never gonna happen. So maybe I should just do that. Right now.
13. Or maybe I’d rather write after all.
