On Wednesdays I vow to inconsistently list some good books I’ve recently read.
The Hate U Give has gotten so much buzz. It made me a little wary of reading it. Sometimes my expectations are too high when this happens. But, readers, I was not disappointed with this one. Angie Thomas is a talented writer. This is an important YA novel that everyone should read, yes. It’s about a timely subject (police shooting) and the racial tension that is present today, yes. But it’s SO well-written. The voice was great; the characters were interesting and eclectic. I loved everything about this. You will too. Run out and read this soon.
