Did you know that the country of Guatemala is divided into 22 departments? (Think of it a little bit like the states that make up the United States.)

Wikipedia has a nice chart with info on each department. But I love the above map best because it shows the texture of the land. You can see Guatemala has a little bit of everything–coastal regions, mountains, flat lands. The country of Guatemala is about as big as the state of Tennessee, in case you’re wondering. That’s a lot of geographic diversity for such a small piece of land!
