On Wednesdays, I vow to inconsistently list some good books I’ve recently read.
I love Joanne Rocklin’s books! And Fleabrain Loves Franny might be my new favorite. It’s historical fiction at its best – full of great things to learn about polio – but centered around a fantastic character who deals with stuff that everyone deals with – feeling left out, mean authority figures, a wonderful imagination. Fans of Flora and Ulysses will love this story. But anyone who loves smart, strong characters, finding their way in the world should –
