Wednesday: What I’m Reading

On Wednesdays, I vow to inconsistently list some good books I’ve recently read.

Kekla Magoon’s How it Went Down is an outstanding piece of literature. It’s been a while that I’ve read something that left me completely blown away. If there was one book the world should be reading right now – it’s this one. Not because it’s timely–though it is–but because it’s the best example I’ve ever encountered of how difficult it is to define Truth. When a dozen people see someone get shot, who is right about what happened? How well can you really know someone? How much of the facts in our life are really just perceptions?

It’s hard to pull off a novel that is told in multiple points of view and not lose the reader’s interest. This book does exactly that. It’s a master work in voice, characters, story, and setting. If you’re looking for a novel that will suck you in, keep you turning the page, and also get you thinking

Go Forth and Find This Book.
