April is here! National Poetry Month!
In honor of the celebration of all things Poem, I’ll be featuring lots of classroom activities and book recommendations all month long. Teachers – come back each day for some inspiration on how you can celebrate.
To kick us off, here’s a favorite poem of mine, by the Master.
How Not To Have To Dry The Dishes
by Shel Silverstein
If you have to dry the dishes
(Such an awful, boring chore)
If you have to dry the dishes
(‘Stead of going to the store)
If you have to dry the dishes
And you drop one on the floor–
Maybe they won’t let you
Dry the dishes anymore.
