On Wednesdays, I vow to inconsistently list some good books I’ve recently read.
Everyone is talking about Brown Girl Dreaming by Jacqueline Woodson. I finally got my hands on a copy last week and was not disappointed. It’s a wonderful story of an author’s beginning, told in the powerful and lovely poetry that Woodson is known for. Locomotion has always been one of my favorite verse novels. This one is just as good. Rich, powerful poetry that weaves together to tell a poignant story about family and home.
